The Unified Basketball Team earned Team of the Week honors this week by beating Keene on Wednesday and then Traveling to ConVal on Friday, to come back from a double digit deficit to take a one point lead before the Cougars scored one last time to win the battle of the unbeatens, 47-46. Haley Motard led the Spartans to the near comeback victory and earned Athlete of the week honors. Congratulations to all our seniors on a fantastic season finishing 5-1 on the season.
The Girls Basketball Teams hosted Pelham on Friday Night and the Pythons were able to knock off the Spartans in both games.
Jordyn Shaw and Noelle Coteau led the JV team with 6 points apiece while Piper Ross dominated the boards.
In the Varsity game, Milford hung tough through the first quarter, but foul trouble hurt the Spartans as the game progressed, and the taller Pythons prevailed 64-41. Shea Hansen led Milford with 17 points followed by Lexi Bausha with 10 all in the first quarter, before being sidelined with an injury. Bella Ross chipped in with 5 points for the Spartans and Noelle Cotreau picked up her first varsity point from the line.
The boys traveled to Pelham and the JV team lost 58-42. Lucas Neubeck led Milford with 21 points.
The Varsity Team gave Pelham all they could handle as both teams were tied after regulation at 68 apiece, however the Pythons went on to beat the Spartans 87-74. Tyler Constable led Milford with 23 points hitting 7, 3 point shots. Ben Emerson chipped in with 13 while Will Emerson and Maliki Blay finished with 11 each.
Bowling had it's most successful day of the year so far. We had our best team game (488), best team series (907), first 100 in a baker game (103) and first win in a baker game! Tristan got hot the second game and pulled out a 161 with a turkey.
Saturday was tough with only 4 people. Larry Freeman continues to get better, and he hit his personal best in game 2. Mavrick Spirito just missed some big scores on the day
The Admiral mHockey Team came up big on Saturday night with a big win over Di Nashua North and South winning 5-2. Chris Bozza led Milford with a goal and an assist, while Dylan MacLeod had 2 assists and Luke Green also finished with an assist.
The 4x800 Meter Track and Field Teams had a great day at UNH today at States. The Girls team came in seated 9th and placed 7th and the Boys Team was seated 7th and placed 5th. Grant Skorupan came back from almost a lap down with 4 laps to go and he came back to lead the boys to a first place finish in their heat. The team will finish up the state meet next Saturday, February 8th at 9 am at Plymouth State University.
The Swim Team had a meeting in Londonderry on Friday and at Hampshire Hills on Sunday, but results were not yet available. However, Milford would like to recognise seniors Willa Audley, Jack Bastarache, Shilo Chappell and Grant Skorupan who competed in their last home meet in their swimming career. All four will compete in the State Meet on February 14th at UNH.
